1. Ballon d'Or Award (Lionel Messi)

Every year, they will give out an award to the best overall performing player. In 2021, Messi once again received the Ballon d'Or award.
Messi has won the award seven times (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019, 2021), an absolutely miraculous and mind-blowing achievement.
Messi is the most decorated player in the history of the Ballon d'Or award. A total of 10 players have claimed the trophy more than once and Messi is at the top of the chart with his seven. Cristiano Ronaldo is behind him in second, having won it five times

The Egyptian King has yet again put himself at the top of another statistical category. With his hat trick, he surpassed Didier Drogba for the most goals by an African in the Premier League. What’s even more impressive is that Salah reached the mark in 89 fewer games than Drogba.
Salah also became the first player to ever score a Premier League hat trick at Old Trafford. He’s only the second Liverpool player ever to net three in a game there in all competitions. Salah also became the first Liverpool player to score three games in a row at Old Trafford
3. Robert Lewandowski’s 60th Goals

Robert Lewandowski scored his 60th goal in 2021 in all competitions during Bayern Munich’s 2-1 win over Freiburg on Saturday.
The Polish striker is the first player to score 60 goals (for club and country) since Cristiano Ronaldo last did it in 2014.
He's also only the third player to score 60+ goals in a single year in the modern era after Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Lewandowski has 10 more games to play in 2021, meaning he can score even more goals.
Ronaldo’s highest tally of goals scored in a single year came in 2013 when he scored 69 goals across all competitions.
Messi, however, boasts an incredible record of having scored 91 goals for club and country in 2012.
Despite his heroics, Lewandowski did not win the Ballon d’Or this year – with Leo winning the award.
4. Lionel Messi Signed Contract With Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)

Lionel Messi has agreed to a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain and will make his move to the French capital official following a shocking exit from Barcelona. According to Sky Sports, Messi plans to sign a two-year deal with a net salary of £25 million per season ($34.6 million). The contract also includes a £25 million fee at signing and a third-year option at £25 million. Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens of ESPN reported in July that Messi had agreed to a five-year extension to remain at Barcelona while taking a significant wage reduction. The club wasn't able to fit his contract into its wage limit for 2021-22, however, and it announced on August 5 2021 that Messi would leave after 17 years.

Cristiano, a five-time Ballon D’or winner, has so far won over 30 major trophies during his career, including five UEFA Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cups, seven league titles in England, Spain, and Italy, and the UEFA European Championship for his native Portugal. Cristiano is the first player to have won league titles in England, Spain, and Italy. He was also the highest goal scorer in last season’s Serie A and won the golden boot at this year’s European Championship. In his first spell for Manchester United, he scored 118 goals in 292 games.
